Bhubaneswar is the capital of Odisha .It is the biggest city and the main power corridor of Odisha. The city is famous for its ancient rich heritage especially its historic monumental temples. It is popularly known as the temple city. Because many temples built from sandstone are dotted around Bindu Sagar Lake in the old city, including the 11th-century Hindu Lingaraja Temple.
As per initial reports, the miscreants targeted the jewellery shop located at Unit-4 market in the capital city.
Utkal Petroleum Dealers' Association General Secretary, Sanjay Lath today informed that earlier the association had urged people not to resort to panic buying in the larger interest of other consumers of the state.
Later, the tourists were rescued with help of local shopkeepers and police, sources informed adding that all of them have been admitted to Capital Hospital.
The strike launched by the Odisha Drivers’ Association entered the second day on Thursday. The agitating members have been staging a sit-in on the National Highway near Tomando. Because of this, the trucks from other states were stranded yesterday.
Around 10,000 auto-rickshaw and taxi drivers will remain off road tomorrow to participate in the strike.
Chand got bail in connection with a complaint filed by another accused, Shradhanjali Behera at Khandagiri police station.
“Our main demand is regularisation of job with a minimum monthly salary of Rs 26, 000,” she added.
Over five lakh drivers across the State reportedly took part in the indefinite strike to press for the fulfillment of their various demands .
As per the federation, a steering committee meeting will be held and in the meeting, they will decide whether to go for the strike or not.
“We would also like to request the agitators not to cause any inconvenience to people,” said Police Commissioner Soumendra Priyadarshi.
As per reports, the minor girl was allegedly lured by Soren with puffed rice and was then taken to a secluded place and raped. The incident came to the fore after some locals found the girl writhing in pain and informed her parents.
Hundreds of people including children and women came out and staged a peaceful protest at the temple to save the temple from being demolished.
According to EOW, the company was used to channelize the ill-gotten money under the ponzi-cum-betting racket. Around Rs 11.74 Crore were routed using this company.
The arrested person has been identified as Gopal Behera and the landowner as Gagan Bihari Sahu. On the basis of the complaint lodged by Sahu, Info Valley Police registered a case and arrested Behera.
“What is 5T, it is not understandable. Is it a department? If so, where is its office, at Rajiv Bhawan, Lok Seva Bhawan or Kharavela Bhawan? Whether the 5T department has been created to diminish the authority of other departments," Mishra questioned.
