IMD Issues Thunderstorm Alert For Odisha Districts
A trough runs from the cyclonic circulation over southeast Bangladesh and its neighbourhood to the North Andaman Sea across the Myanmar coast, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday.
Under its influence, a low-pressure area is likely to form over the North Bay of Bengal and the neighbourhood around October 4. The IMD has predicted that thunderstorms with lightning are likely to occur in several parts of Odisha in the next 48 hours.
A yellow warning in this regard has been issued till October 4, 2024.

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati.
Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 03.10.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 04.10.2024)
Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal.
