Low pressure over north Bay of Bengal around October 4; check IMD forecast about rainfall

The IMD further informed that squally weather with wind speed reaching 35 kmph to 45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph is likely over Northeast and adjoining eastcentral Bay of Bengal during next three days from October 2 to October 4, 2024.

A cyclonic circulation lies over southeast Bangladesh & neighbourhood and a trough runs from this cyclonic circulation to North Andaman Sea across Myanmar coast in lower tropospheric levels, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday.

As per IMD,  a low pressure area is likely to form over North Bay of Bengal and the neighbourhood around October 4 under its influence.

Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely over northeast region on October 2 and 3.
Scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall very likely over Bihar, West Bengal and Sikkim during the week. Isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall over Jharkhand, Odisha region during the week.

South Peninsular India

Isolated heavy rainfall is very likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal during 2nd - 6th October; Kerala & Mahe during 2nd -3rd October.

Central India

Isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall over Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh region during last 3 days of the week.
