Bhadrak is a city of Odisha state in eastern India. It came into existence on 1 April 1993. According to legend, the city derives its name from the Goddess Bhadrakali whose temple is on the banks of the Salandi River. Dhamra, one of the deep draft ports of India which can accommodate super cape-size vessels is situated in Bhadrak. Bhadrak is also famous for Palua Ladu, special kind of sweet.

Counting of votes for the by-election to Dhamnagar Assembly constituency is under process. The counting will take place on 14 tables in as many as 18 rounds.
The fate of the candidates sealed in the EVM machines will be revealed tomorrow as the counting is all set to start from 8 am on Sunday.
The woman, identified as Jyotsnarani Sahu of Alanaga village under Basudevpur police limits, reportedly sustained injury on her hand while scuffling with the miscreants.
