BJD leader Arup Patnaik, who had unsuccessfully contested in the Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha segment, may be given a party ticket from the Puri LS seat while veteran leader Prasanna Patasani may be fielded from the Chilika Assembly seat, reliable sources said.
In order to alleviate the plight of devotees who wait on queues for hours in the open to have darshan of Lord Jagannath, the Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) had installed an air conditioned tunnel near the Singhadwara.

ASI superintendent DB Garnaik said, “The conservation work of the Srimandir Nata Mandap has already been started. Many components of its conservation work like roof-tightening and leak plugging have been completed. The only work left is the repair of the cracked beam.”
Police were investigating a bike-lifting racket. While interrogating some accused about the racket, police then only came to know about their link with the temple burglary.
