As per official sources, Barla had allegedly demanded Rs 20,000 from the complainant for issuance of ROR (Land Patta) in his favour in the mutation case.

As per reports, 3000 sharecroppers and sub-tenants of land in Balasore districts were called on to a government programme on Tuesday to receive ‘Sikkim Record of Rights’ (Sikkim Patta) for their lands. Being a government programme, the Collector had invited Balasore MLA and MP to the programme.

As per reports, the district is grappling to provide sufficient playgrounds to children. The government is spending crores of rupees on sports and players. However, most of the grounds in Balasore town do not have the necessary equipment along with the infrastructure.

The incident was reported on late Sunday night when the IIC of Talasari Marine Police Station Champabati Soren reached a shop in Udaypur village to stop gambling activities.

The matter came to light after some villagers found the gates of the temple broken and informed the priest about the theft.

Days after a youth identified as Bhabani Rout and his friend Manoranjan Mohapatra were killed by contract killers engaged by Bhabani's elder brother and sister-in-law, the people of Kansa village under Nilagiri Police limits of Balasore reportedly ostracised the family of the accused couple.

“When my mother-in-law, father-in-law, and their daughter attacked me with a crowbar, I covered my head with my hands. My right hand was broken. They are always forcing me to go for divorce. They are demanding a dowry of Rs 10 lakh and a bike,” the woman lamented.
