At least 10 members of a marriage party were injured, two of them critically, after the bus they were traveling in hit a truck from the rear near Karanjia in Mayurbhanj late on Friday night.

As per reports, the marriage party bus was en route to Jajpur from Jamshedpur in Jharkhand carrying around 40 baraatis. On the way, the bus rear-ended a stationery truck near Tata on National Highway 220.

Following the mishap, the injured were rushed to Karanjia hospital for treatment.

While the exact reason behind the accident is still unclear, the police have seized the vehicles and a probe has been launched into the matter.

In another accident, seven persons were injured after a Bolero hit a stationery truck from behind at Dahisara Chhak near Balasore’s Soro in the wee hours of Saturday.

As per reports, the Bolero was going towards Balasore from Cuttack when the mishap happened.

The injured were initially admitted to Soro hospital but later shifted to Balasore DHH after their health condition deteriorated.

A day before, as many as 20 tourists were injured after a truck collided with their bus from the rear at Gada Khordha Square on National Highway 16 in Khordha. The mishap happened in the wee hours of Friday.

The bus was reportedly en route to Puri with 45 tourists from Gudari in Rayagada district who were being taken by the Odisha government to the pilgrim town to visit the newly-inaugurated Srimandir Parikrama Project.

As per reports, the bus reached the Goshala field near Khordha along the NH-16 today morning where the district administration has made arrangements for refreshments for the Parikrama Project visitors. However, when the passengers were getting down from the bus, a hyva truck hit it from the rear.
