Prasanth Varma's directorial HanuMan recently completed a glorious 100-day run in 25 theatres. The superhero movie emerged as a cinematic spectacle while scripting record as an all-time Sankranti blockbuster in 92 years of Tollywood history. Recently, Varma teased the poster of Jai Hanuman streaming excitement among all. While all eyes are on the next updates of the second instalment of Varma's superhero cinematic universe, a recent buzz in the industry suggests that Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh is collaborating with the Tollywood director.
The makers have already confirmed HanuMan's sequel and teased the poster. The makers unveiled a poster recently showing Lord Hanuman standing strong opposite a dragon. While the poster promises an epic showdown, it fuelled excitement among movie lovers.
However, the recent reports of Ranveer Singh's collaboration with Varma have triggered several speculations.
As per an exclusive report by Hindustan Times, a source from Varma's team stated that Ranveer is 'interested' in working with Varma. However, he is yet to sign the dotted line.
The statement read, "Yes it's true that Prasanth approached Ranveer for a film in his cinematic universe. It will be his immediate next project after HanuMan. Ranveer is interested and it's almost confirmed but nothing is finalised yet. An official announcement will be made once it's finalised. Mythri Movie Makers will be backing it." (sic)
As the makers have already confirmed the sequel, speculations are rife that the Padmaavat actor might be in talks with Varma for Jai Hanuman. However, it is not yet confirmed if Varma's immediate next will be Jai Hanuman or not. Moreover, there is no official statement confirming that Varma's next with the Bajirao Mastani actor will be Jai Hanuman.
Notably, Jai Hanuman might serve as the second instalment of his ambitious cinematic universe. Earlier, reports were abuzz that the filmmaker was in talks with a popular Bollywood actor to play the lead character in the movie. Meanwhile, during his chat with Sidharth Kanan, revealing his next movie in the cinematic universe, Varma said that the next flick will be Adhira which will be based on the central character who gets power from Lord Indra. Following that, the next installment of the cinematic universe will be a female-centric superhero which would be the first Indian female superhero movie.
While earlier reports suggested Ranveer Singh's collaboration with Prasanth Varma for a big-budget movie, the recent reports of the actor teaming up with the director for his next has left moviegoers puzzled. Ranveer's collaboration with Varma might be for Jai Hanuman or even Adhira. Even it might be for any other venture out of the cinematic universe. Fans need to wait for an official announcement from the makers and the director.
