Amidst the ongoing war of words over the alleged EVM toppling row, Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi on Tuesday claimed that MLA Prashant Jagdev is innocent and she has the CCTV footage to prove this.
At a presser in Bhubaneswar, Aparajita Sarangi alleged that Odisha’s power corridor, the third floor and the coterie group are involved in the conspiracy behind Prashant Jagdev’s arrest.

“Under what circumstances, Prashant Jagdev was sent to jail. It is the biggest question as I had reached the booth 10 minutes after the incident was reported. I discussed it with people and nobody told me that Prashant Jagdev broke the cabinet. There were many people inside and outside the booth. Nobody gave me any complaint in this regard. A high-rank district officer told me that everything was being done on the instructions of the third floor. Law and order is a state subject and is headed by CM. If there is any deviation of law and a sitting MLA is arrested without making the CCTV footage public. An MP’s vehicle is accosted and dragged out, it is the CM who is to be held accountable. Prashant Jagdev is a popular leader and the BJD is afraid of him. There is a huge conspiracy behind his arrest,” alleged Sarangi.
Sarangi Makes Startling Revelation
"Today, I have received the CCTV footage and it will be made public soon," informed senior BJP leader Aparajita Sarangi.
"...Prashant Jagdev has no role in toppling the EVM. The name of the one who broke it will be revealed today or by tomorrow. I have an audio of BJD worker who also says that Prashant Jagdev has no role in it. I have three evidence and it shows how the law and order situation is working in Odisha. Prashant Jagdev is in jail for three days and who is responsible. The state government has committed a mistake and is now on the backfoot. Common people are saying and BJD people are admitting the mistake. The law and order situation in Odisha has gone for a toss,” said Sarangi.

"The CCTV footage that I have with me will be released soon. There are some processes for which I am not showing. What is happening here is against the principles of natural justice. Not only BJP, the people of Odisha are with Prashant Jagdev except CM Naveen Patnaik and his coterie," the senior BJP leader said.
BJD Failed To Deliver On 75 Percent Works Promised in 2019
Ahead of 2019 polls, the BJD had released a manifesto and the party had promised a lot of things. Where is the report card? Around 75 per cent of work has not been done by BJD, alleged Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi.
“Where is the report card of the last 5 years of the CM? I am not asking report card of 25 years. Will the CM release his report card and whether the promised works have been done? Odisha tops in unemployment as highlighted by the International Labour Organisation survey. Around 42 percent educated youths are uneducated in the state. Among 22 states, Odisha ranked no 1 as far as unemployment in the country is concerned. Hence, CM is not willing to provide the report card of his government," alleged Sarangi.
“As I have been releasing my report card, I have the rights and hence I am asking for a similar report card from the CM,” Sarangi added.
