The BJD's defeat in the 2024 general elections is attributed to internal sabotage and complacency, says party leader Nrusingha Sahu.

CEO Nikunja Dhal said, "The overall turnout, (excluding postal ballots) in 2019 was recorded at 73.09 per cent while the polling per cent in 2024 was 74.44 per cent.”
Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik presided over the Cabinet meeting and recommended the Governor for dissolution of the Legislative Assembly till the formation of a newly-elected legislature.
Hundreds of BJYM workers from various parts of the state converged in front of the DGP office, clamouring for action against the main accused. They alleged that Chandbali MLA Byomakesh Ray was behind the attack on their leader Avilash Panda.
The vote counting for the Lok Sabha and State Assembly elections in Odisha is scheduled for June 4, 2024. Enhanced security measures including a three-tier system are in place at 147 counting centers. This follows voting across multiple dates and a re-poll in two booths.
