Hundreds of activists of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), Odisha, took to the streets on Monday and gheraoed the DGP office in Cuttack over the brutal attack on their leader Avilash Panda during the last day of campaigning for the final phase at Chandbali in Bhadrak.

As per reports, hundreds of BJYM workers from various parts of the state converged in front of the DGP office, clamouring for action against the main accused.

To date, police have arrested 10 persons involved in the brutal attack on Panda and his supporters.

The agitating BJYM activists alleged that Chandbali MLA Byomakesh Ray was behind the attack on Panda.

BJP MLA candidate for the Banki Assembly seat Tusharkanti Chakraborty said, "We strongly condemn the brutal attack on BJYM president Avilash Panda. The attack was sponsored by BJD leader Byomakesh Ray. We demand the immediate arrest of the main accused. Or else, we will intensify our agitation. The people of Odisha will not tolerate the hooliganism of the BJD leaders.”
