The active cases declined to 37,762, including 10,467 in Khurda, which is in the red zone along with Sundargarh and Cuttack, where current infections are over 2,500 each.

Dr. Mike Ryan, executive director of the WHO's Health Emergencies Program, echoed that countries should chart their own paths in lifting the measures instead of following blindly what the other countries is doing.

Apart from revising the timing of night curfew in all urban areas, the State government has issued certain restrictions on the observance of several festivals including Saraswati puja, Magha Saptami/ Magha Purnima.

As per the notification released by the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC), night curfew will continue in all urban areas of the State. However, the night curfew timings have been relaxed by an hour.

The State witnessed 18 more fatalities on Monday taking the toll to 8612 while 3329 fresh infections pushed the positive case tally to 1249240.
