As per the data shared by the State Information and Public Relations Department, a total of 53 new infections have been reported in the State, a rise of seven cases from yesterday's tally.
The State witnessed 18 more fatalities on Monday taking the toll to 8612 while 3329 fresh infections pushed the positive case tally to 1249240.
As many as 15 patients succumbed to the disease which pushed the death toll to 8,575
For last many days, the number of Covid-19 cases detected per day in the State is on the downslope, despite more than 70,000 tests per day
Khordha district reported highest 3,469 cases of Covid-19 infections, accounting for over 30% of the total new positives today, followed by Sundargarh with 1416 cases
While Khordha topped the list with 274 cases, Cuttack registered 37 new cases followed by Mayurbhanj (23), Balasore (20), and Jajpur (15). Meanwhile, Puri registered 13 cases and Kendrapara and Sambalpur recorded 11 cases each. All other districts of the state registered less than 10 cases each.
Infection among children below 18 years old has reduced on September 7 in comparison to the previous day’s figures. In the last 24 hrs, as many as 93 positive cases have been detected in the category of under 18 years.
Odisha witnessed the deadliest day since pandemic outbreak with the state recording 48 fatalities in the past 24 hours. The state also crossed the grim milestone 4K deaths.
Covid-19 continues to wreck havoc as 40 more fatalities were recorded in Odisha in the past 24 hours. Meanwhile, the state also recorded less then 3K daily cases with 2912 new infections reported in last 24 hours.
Odisha has seen a marginal rise in the daily cases of Covid-19 in the last two days. The State has reported a total of 3631 new infections in the last 24 hours with 2069 cases out of them detected from quarantines. Similarly, 1562 new cases have been reported as local contact infections.
Even as Odisha is witnessing a downtrend in daily Covid-19 cases, daily deaths have become a major cause of concern. The state breached the grim milestone of 3000 deaths after 41 more succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours. However, the TPR of Odisha has dropped to 9.1 percent.
