The Odisha Government on Monday announced to grant 7-day leave to employees testing positive for COVID infection.

In a letter to all departments of the government, RDCs and Collectors of districts, the General Administration Department has ordered that any employee testing positive for the SARS-CoV-2 will be allowed 7-day leave.

The new rule however adds that leave beyond 7 days for anyone may be granted on production of Medical Certificate. The order will come into force with immediate effect.

As per the laid out protocols, the person concerned must self-observe for 7 days and follow COVID appropriate behaviour upon resuming duty after recovery and completion of the isolation period.

It may be noted that the government has already made 7-day quarantine norm for people testing positive for COVID.

In another major development, the State Government earlier today cleared all its departments and offices to resume functioning with full strength.

In the wake of the third wave of the COVID pandemic, the offices and departments of the government were asked to function with 50% of staff for the past few weeks.
