CBI to seek 14-day remand of Pravat Tripathy
Bhubaneswar: The CBI will produce arrested Banki MLA Pravat Tripathy today before special CJM court and file petition seeking 14-day remand of the accused for questioning.
The probe agency conducted health check-up of the legislator this morning. Doctors from Capital hospital came to the CBI office to examine health of Banki MLA.
On the other hand, Pravat’s counsel said that he would fight against CBI’s plea in the court. Besides, he would pray before court to provide necessary treatment facilities to the MLA.
Tripathy, a four times legislator and former government chief whip was arrested on Friday on charges of criminal conspiracy and having received huge sum of money from chit-fund company Artha Tatwa Group. After his arrest, BJD suspended him from the party.
