1999's Bollywood classic Sarfarosh, starring Aamir Khan and Sonali Bendre in the lead, remains one of the most loved movies of the actor. The movie completes 25 years of its release on May 10 and a special screening is was held in Mumbai. During the interaction, the Dhoom 3 actor spoke about his plans for the sequel.

As Sarfarosh completed 25 years today, to celebrate the milestone, the entire team and makers of the classic movie were present during the screening. The star-studded event turned into a delight when Aamir revealed about Sarfarosh 2.

When asked about the sequel of Sarfarosh, the Laal Singh Chaddha actor said, "I can commit about one thing, that we will definitely give it a really serious shot now of coming up with the right script and a right kind of film for it. So John you will have to get to work here."

Further, he asserted, "Sarfarosh 2 banni chaiye (Sarfarosh 2 should be made) even I feel that."

Earlier in the evening, a Bollywood Hungama report claimed, "If not announce, Aamir will atleast assure that the second part of Sarfarosh is in the works. However, it is not known if he will star in Sarfarosh 2 or not."

Notably, reports were abuzz that director John Matthew Matthan is working on the sequel. Even certain reports claimed that John Abraham would play the lead. However, in 2020, the director confirmed that he is no longer working on the sequel.
 
The 25th-anniversary special screening of Sarfarosh was organised by Radio Nasha. Apart from Aamir Khan and John Matthew Matthan, Sonali Bendre, Naseeruddin Shah, Makrand Deshpande, Mukesh Rishi, and Upasana Singh, reportedly, attended the event.
