In a bid to keep harvest of this season safe, Odisha’s Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) PK Mohapatra on Friday sounded alert to district collectors of coastal, northern, southern regions of the state about possible rains due to a low pressure that formed over coastal parts of eastern Sri Lanka

Owing to a low pressure area likely to form over west central and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal off north Andhra Pradesh-south Odisha coasts around 11th July, the regional centre of India Meteorological department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for several districts of Odisha.

A north-south trough runs from north Bihar to north Coastal Andhra Pradesh across Jharkhand and interior Odisha.
