A low-pressure area is very likely to form over the Andaman sea during the next 48 hours, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Bhubaneswar Centre here on Saturday.

The Bhubaneswar Centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed that a low pressure area is very likely to form over north Andaman Sea around 10th October.

The India Meteorological Department IMD) has issued a forecast suggesting that the low pressure is likely to form over North Andaman Sea around October 10. 

It’s hardly been 10 days since ‘Cyclone Gulab’ caused devastation in parts of Odisha, and formation of a fresh low pressure has triggered speculations regarding another cyclone in the state.

A well-marked low pressure now lies over western parts of Gangetic West Bengal and neighbourhood, informed the Indian Meteorological Department. The low pressure area formed over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal area of west Bengal on September 28th morning.

The system presently lies over the western parts of Gangetic West Bengal and neighbourhood and the associated cyclonic circulation extends up to mid-tropospheric levels, the weather bureau informed in its latest bulletin.

After Cyclone Gulab, a fresh cyclonic circulation is currently brewing in the Bay of Bengal, informed the regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Yesterday’s cyclonic circulation near Myanmar coast has intensified and it will concentrate in low pressure area. It will move towards the Odisha coast. The cyclonic circulation and low pressure will trigger heavy rains in several parts of Odisha from September 26.

The Met Centre has also issued yellow warning for heavy rainfall in Nuapada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi and Bolangir on Thursday.

Under the influence of the cyclonic circulation over Gangetic West Bengal, a low pressure area has formed over southern parts of Gangetic West Bengal and neighbourhood, informed the Bhubaneswar Centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The cyclonic circulation now lies over east-central and adjoining northeast Bay of Bengal extending upto 5.8 km above mean sea level. It is very likely to move west north-westwards and reach Northwest Bay of Bengal off north Odisha-WestBengal coasts during the next 12 hours, informed the Met Centre in a tweet.

Heavy rainfall might occur over North Odisha districts between September 19 and 20, owing to a possible low pressure forming in the Bay of Bengal (BoB). This information was given by the Director General (DG) of India Meteorological Department (IMD), Mrutyunjay Mohapatra on Thursday (Sept 16).

Odisha is very likely to experience another rainy spell this week. Under the influence of an expected cyclonic circulation over Bay of Bengal, rainfall is likely to return this weekend.

The Met Centre has issued red warning for Angul, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Bargarh, Bolangir and Sonepur districts for tomorrow.

Moderate rain and thundershowers with one or two intense or heavy spells of rain is likely to affect some parts of districts of Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Khorda, including Bhubaneswar City, Cuttack, including Cuttack City and Kendrapara within the next three hours.
