A Low Pressure area has formed over Northwest Bay of Bengal & adjoining Odisha is most likely to trigger torrential rain in most parts of the State from today. The weather condition would continue till June 14, according to a forecast by the IMD.
The Southwest Monsoon has arrived in Odisha, informed regional centre of the India Meteorological Centre on Thursday (June 10).
Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at a few places with extremely heavy falls at isolated places over the districts of Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Angul, Dhenkanal, and Sambalpur.
A Low-pressure area is likely to form over the North Bay of Bengal and its adjoining area by June 11.
Odisha is likely to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall from June 10-June 14. According to the latest forecast of the regional Centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar, a low pressure is likely to form over North Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood around June 11, 2021.
The Southwest Monsoon winds may make onset in Odisha by June 10 to 12, the Director General of India Meteorological Department, Mrutyunjay Mohapatra informed OTV through a telephonic message.
