As per IMD, the system with west-northwestwards movement will further intensify into a low pressure area by October 20 over southeast and adjoining central parts of Bay of Bengal (BoB).
As per IMD, two places in Odisha experienced extremely heavy rainfall activities under the influence of active monsoon conditions and low pressure system in the past 24 hours.
Moreover, an ‘orange warning’ for heavy to very heavy rainfall activities has been issued for seven districts of Odisha in next 24 hours.
The IMD’s Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar has also issued an advisory for intense spell of rainfall (2-3 cm/hour) in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar today.
As per IMD, the intensity of rainfall is likely to increase as a low pressure system has formed over Westcentral Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood.
The IMD on Monday predicted heavy rainfall activities in Odisha till October 7. As per IMD, a Low Pressure Area has formed over Westcentral Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood under the influence of the cyclonic circulation over Westcentral and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal.
As per IMD, the low pressure area has formed under the influence westcentral adjoining north-western Bay of Bengal area.
During the period between June 1 and September 20, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal, Gajapati and Koraput districts recorded excess rainfall while the rest 25 districts received normal rianfall.
