Several parts of Odisha will experience heavy rainfall activities in next 48 hours, predicted India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday.

Moreover, an ‘orange warning’ for heavy to very heavy rainfall activities has been issued for seven districts of Odisha in next 24 hours.

The alert has been sounded for the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput and Kandhamal.

As per IMD, yesterday’s low pressure area now lies over west central Bay of Bengal off Andhra Pradesh coast with associate cyclonic circulation.

Day-1: (Valid from 0830 Hrs IST of 04.10.22 to 0830 Hrs IST of 05.10.22)

Orange Warning(Be prepared) : Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm) very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput, and Kandhamal.

Yellow Warning (Be updated) - Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Boudh, Bolangir, Nayagarh, Khordha, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Balasore, Bhadrak, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal and Angul.

Day-2: (Valid from 0830 Hrs IST of 05.10.22 to 0830 Hrs IST of 06.10.22)

Yellow Warning (Be updated) Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Nawarangpur, Ganjam, Puri, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Balasore and Bhadrak.

Day-3: (Valid from 0830 Hrs IST of 06.10.22 to 0830 Hrs IST of 07.10.22)

Yellow Warning (Be updated) Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput Nawarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam and Puri.
