Authorities have alleged that the developmental works are suffering from inordinate delay due to the inefficacy and apathy of the corporation.
At least 198 students, relatives, friends, batch mates, seniors and juniors of Ruchika have been interrogated till now, but to no avail.

President of the BJP youth wing Irasis Acharya, addressing a press meet, said, “Investigation in Ruchika’s case is not being properly done. The state government should come up with anti-ragging law to avoid recurrence of such activities.”
Ruchika Mohanty, a Plus 3 first-year History (Hons) student of BJB College was found hanging in her room in Karubaki Hostel on Saturday.
In the note written in Odia, the victim, Ruchika Mohanty, stated that she was ending her life after getting fed up with mental harassment by three senior girl students.
Badagada police are currently questioning both the students in this regard
