With the Commissionerate Police yet to make any headway in the BJB college student Ruchika Mohanty's suicide due to alleged ragging even after nine days of the incident, the deceased’s mother continues her protest outside the college demanding arrest of the persons involved in the case.

Moreover, police are yet to ascertain why and on what circumstances Ruchika, a plus 3 first year student of History (Hons) at the BJB college, committed suicide.

The police are also clueless about the identities of the elusive three seniors who allegedly forced the girl student to take such a drastic step.

Ruchika had mentioned about three seniors in her suicide note which was recovered from the spot.

Meanwhile, Ruchika’s mother who has been demanding justice for her daughter said she will perform the 10th and 11th day rituals of Ruchika in front of the college.

“The probe has not made any headway. I only demand justice for my daughter. I want police to arrest the three seniors about whom my daughter had mentioned in her suicide letter. I will perform the 10th and 11th day rituals in front of the college and not go to village until my daughter gets justice,” said the deceased’s mother.

Meanwhile, a psychologist visited the college hostel and discussed with the inmates to check their mental state.

“The students might have stress. I came here just to discuss the mental health of the students,” said Prapti Pradhan, psychologist.

"We hope the student can express and share more information about the incident to the psychologist” said Prakash Pal, Bhubaneswar additional DCP.
