While the uproar over BJB college student Ruchika Mohanty's suicide due to alleged ragging is yet to subside, another student of the educational institute has brought up ragging allegations against classmates on Thursday.

According to sources, a Plus 2 second year Commerce student has lodged a complaint at Badagada police station accusing some classmates of having assaulted him and snatched away his motorcycle.

Reactions of the college authorities over the allegation could not be obtained.

Meanwhile, members of the Naba Nirman Sangathan along with several student unions have staged road blockade demanding justice for Ruchika. The deceased’s mother has also joined the protests.

Ruchika’s post-mortem report has confirmed that she died of asphyxia due to hanging with a rope. Commissionerate Police has sent the viscera sample to a laboratory for more tests.

In her suicide note, Ruchika, a Plus 3 first year student of History (Hons), alleged that she was mentally tortured by three senior girl students that compelled her to take the extreme step.

The parents of Ruchika Mohanty have been demanding a CBI inquiry into alleged ragging that reportedly led to her death.
