Bhubaneswar: As many as 28 students of BJB (Buxi Jagabandhu Bidyadhar) Junior College have been barred from appearing the CHSE Plus-II examinations that will start from March 7, 2019. These students, the highest number in the history of the college, have been barred for failing to fulfill the minimum attendance criterion and have not appeared any exams conducted by the college during the course duration.

As per reports, out of 1,248 students who took admission in the college for the academic session 2017-2019, seven students from science stream, eight from commerce and 13 from arts stream have been barred.

The decision was taken by the authorities with the consent of the college staff council, added sources.

"The barred students neither appeared the test or pretest exams nor did they attend college regularly. They had very low attendance and don't fulfill the eligibility criteria to appear the exam," said BJB Junior College principal, Bishnu Charan Das.

Das further said that "as per the norms, these students were not allowed to fill their application forms for the Plus-II exams."
