As many as two students were detained by Badagada police for getting admission into BJB Autonomous College in Bhubaneswar by submitting forged disability certificates.

As per reports, Badagada police are currently questioning both the students in this regard.

Earlier on Tuesday, the principal of the college Niranjan Rath had lodged FIRs against as many as eight students for furnishing fake disability certificates to get admission into the college.

The illegal act of the students came to forefront after Rath discovered some discrepancies in the documents of the students. Later, he conducted a probe and found that the eight students had submitted forged disability documents during their admission.

The Badagada police started an investigation into the matter after the college authorities lodged complaints against the defaulters.

The college administration is also examining the involvement of other students on submitting fake disability certificates to get admission into the college.

Earlier on January 22, the Odisha Higher Education Department had instructed the principals of all colleges across the State to lodge FIR at the local police station against students who have submitted fake disability papers to get admission.
