Bhubaneswar is the capital of Odisha .It is the biggest city and the main power corridor of Odisha. The city is famous for its ancient rich heritage especially its historic monumental temples. It is popularly known as the temple city. Because many temples built from sandstone are dotted around Bindu Sagar Lake in the old city, including the 11th-century Hindu Lingaraja Temple.
President of Odisha BJP Manmohan Samal said, “We have decided to bring a charge-sheet against the government on April 21 before our Sankalp Patra is released in the first week of May."
By 2.30 pm, Bhubaneswar was the hottest city with 39.6 degrees, but mercury shot up to 40.5 degrees in Paralakemundi in the evening. It became the hottest city in Odisha.
BJD leader Padmanabh Behera said, ”No guarantee will work here, except the Naveen guarantee. The Naveen guarantee will be effective and the BJD will perform better than the previous elections.”
The party has fielded Niranjan Patnaik for the Bhandaripokhari Assembly seat while Jaydev Jena has been named as the party candidate for the Anandapur constituency.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had earlier predicted the rise of mercury in Odisha. The temperature has started to peak again and by 2:30 pm on Sunday, seven cities including Bhubaneswar recorded temperatures more than 37 degrees.
Supporters of sitting BJD MLA Raghunandan Das who have been waiting for the party’s decision, gathered at the legislator's residence in Bhubaneswar on Saturday. They are said to be sceptical of the candidature of the incumbent MLA.
The grand old party had earlier announced its candidates for eight Lok Sabha seats while candidates for four more parliamentary seats are yet to be announced.
The money lender is presently asking the impoverished family in Padmakesharipur village to pay Rs 15 lakh more.
Without taking BJD leader VK Pandian’s name, Odisha BJP Vice President, Biranchi Tripathy on Saturday took a swipe at the ruling BJD saying the party has been hijacked by an officer in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).
A special squad of the Commissionerate Police seized over 1 kg gold, 1.5 kg silver ornaments and Rs 4 lakh cash from their possession.
The ruling BJD seems to have lost its charm after popular cine actors- Akashdas Nayak, Sidhant Mohapatra, Arindam Roy and Anubhav Mohanty quit the party and joined the BJP ahead of the crucial 2024 elections in Odisha.
Acharya has now been pitted against BJP heavyweight and Leader of Opposition (LoP) Jayanarayan Mishra. It is speculated that Acharya was more keen to contest from Rairakhol Assembly seat.
Serial burglary incidents have now become a regular feature in Bhubaneswar, thereby creating fear in the minds of the residents of the Capital city. As per reports, as many as 34 flats in 14 apartments in Bhubaneswar have been burgled in the last six months.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Supreme Court has provided over 20000 judgements in Odia and other regional languages in the last 5 years. The Orissa High Court is also uploading the verdicts in Odia vernacular language
As per the forecast issued by IMD on Friday, the maximum temperature is expected to rise by 6 to 8 degrees C after 24 hours.
