Odisha BJP Vice President, Biranchi Tripathy on Saturday launched a broadside against the ruling BJD saying an officer in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) has hijacked the party.

Tripathy’s statement came after the BJD moved the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) against the BJP.

“Why is the BJD concerned about some tainted official instead of thinking about the people of Odisha,” said Tripathy.

Without taking BJD leader VK Pandian’s name, he said, “There is an obvious reason behind this. After being included in the CMO, an officer has hijacked the entire party. Similarly, the party is being run by some tainted officers. It is obvious that the party is forced to turn to the CEO to protect such officers.”

“But the BJD should desist from supporting such officers and think about the development of Odisha people as Odisha is lagging behind in all spheres. The party thinking about its officers is ridiculous,” he added.

No comments were received from the BJD on the BJP leader’s allegations.
