A day after eggs were hurled at the convoy of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik during his visit to Puri, BJD MLA from Jajpur and party’s organisational secretary Pranab Prakash Das termed the incident shameful. In a series of tweets, Das requested Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to intervene in the matter immediately. The BJD leader further requested Pradhan to ask those BJP leaders involved in the incident to seek an apology to the people of Odisha. Tension erupted at Nayapalli area in Bhubaneswar after a Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) team reached the spot in front of the Crown Hotel, running alongside the national Highway-16, to raze ‘Mahima Dhaba operating illegally on the government land.
