Balasore: At least four persons died in two separate road accidents on National Highway-5 near Soro on Monday, police said.
Three people died on the spot in a head-on collision between a dumper and a pick-up van while a motor cyclist was killed after a truck hit him from behind.
The two accidents occurred in quick succession on National Highway 5 near Soro 35 km from here.
According to police, a pick-up van coming dashed against a dumper going from south to north when it lost control and jumped the road divider near Chapulia on NH-5, 3 km from Soro police station.
The driver, helper and another man in the pick-up van died, police said.
In the other accident near Soro on NH-5, a motorcyclist run over by a truck died on the spot.
Police said investigation was on and the identity of the deceased had not yet been ascertained. The pick-up van bore a West Bengal registration number.
