In a shocking incident, an engineering student from Kerala, studying at a College in Anekal town of Bengaluru committed suicide by slitting his throat. The incident came to light on Thursday.

He had also appeared in movies like "Step Up" and "Magic Mike XXL." This apart, he also hosted the reality show ‘Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings’ along with his wife.

Police, meanwhile, detained two persons in this connection and started interrogating them.

While no suicide note was found in the room, the police have seized the deceased’s mobile phone which may help them solve the case. 

According to police, the victim Chamundeshwari worked at a beauty parlour. She came in contact with the accused Mallikarjun from Nellore district in Andhra Pradesh six months ago.

A case of abetment of suicide has been registered against the principal and the class teacher, an official said.

The woman fails in her first attempt but succeeds in hanging herself in the second attempt.

In a shocking incident, a woman committed suicide by consuming poison following a quarrel with her husband over a mobile phone at MPV 14 village in Malkangiri district on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Jyoti, wife of Kanhei, a resident of MPV 14 village. They were married for just one year.

Jyoti had been demanding a costly mobile phone. Going to please her, Kanhei had bought her a mobile on EMI.

A suicide note has also recovered from the spot where she allegedly accused her former boyfriend of harassing her.

Popular television actress Vaishali Takkar, who is best known for her work in ‘Sasural Simar Ka’, allegedly died by suicide on Sunday.

Vaishali was found hanging in her home in Indore.

The deceased was reportedly staying with her boyfriend in the apartment who has been absent for the last three days.

It is unanimously accepted that suicide is not the solution. But there seems to be no easy solution to stop it. The reports of back-to-back suicides in Odisha have hogged the headlines in the recent past. This alarming rise has become a matter of grave concern.
