A day back, a group of devotees from Kolkata on their way to Puri were injured after the bus carrying them hit a stationary truck on National Highway-16 in Bhadrak.
According to sources, the devotees from Kolkata were on their way to Puri to pay their obeisance to Lord Jagannath. However, the bus hit a truck from the rear, stationed on National Highway-16 after the driver lost balance over the wheels.
As seen in the video, a traffic cop tried to interact with a rickshaw driver, but he gave a slip to the cop. As it seems, the driver had violated traffic rules and when the cop was trying to take him to task, he escaped.
All the patients on board the bus were rescued and shifted to Dasapalla and Banigochha health centres.
The mishap was reported from Tulasipalli area under Bhanjanagar Police limits of Ganjam district. While two persons died on the spot, the injured were rescued by locals and hospitalised.

As per initial reports, the SUV involved in the accident was reportedly hired for Northern Range Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC) Secretary. The RDC Secretary is reportedly out of town on medical grounds.
