Odisha government on Monday informed that as many as 129 cases of black fungus have been reported from the State so far while a total of 18 people have succumbed to the fatal disease. As per sources, Ganjam and Khordha districts have reported 21 cases each while 8 cases of infection have been confirmed in Balasore.

In a major revelation which is expected to provide the much-needed succour to people in Odisha ravaged by the second wave of Covid19 pandemic, the Health Department on Sunday said that the infection curve in the State has crossed its peak and started to decline.
Capital Hospital Director Laxmidhar Sahu on Thursday said that the Covid-19 graph in Odisha is in a flattening mode at present but cautioned that if the curve does not make a downward trend, the government may have to ponder on extending the lockdown restrictions in the State.
