Punjab has been reeling under one of its worst floods in decades, with incessant rains and overflowing reservoirs inundating hundreds of villages. Families have been forced to abandon their homes, crops have been destroyed, and thousands are taking shelter in relief camps. Amid this humanitarian crisis, several celebrities have stepped forward to provide aid, amplifying relief efforts and bringing both resources and attention to the devastated regions. Among them, Salman Khan has made a significant contribution through his charitable arm, Being Human.

Salman Khan Steps Forward With Being Human

As images of stranded families and submerged villages spread, several celebrities have stepped up to support the rescue and rehabilitation efforts.

Among the most notable contributions has been that of Salman Khan. Reportedly, through his charitable trust, Being Human, the superstar dispatched five rescue boats to Punjab’s flood-hit regions. Two of the boats were formally handed over at the Ferozepur border, while the other three are already in use, ferrying stranded residents and transporting essential supplies. Local officials stressed that boats were among the most urgent requirements, and Salman’s timely intervention has provided crucial relief to marooned families.

Salman Pledged Adopting Villages

According to media reports, officials revealed that Salman’s team has pledged to adopt several border-side villages around Husainiwala. This commitment extends beyond emergency aid, focusing on rebuilding damaged infrastructure, ensuring supply of essentials, and helping restore livelihoods once the waters recede.

Celebrities Extend On-ground Support

Salman Khan is not the only celebrity to step forward. Actor Diljit Dosanjh personally visited flood-hit regions to distribute food and drinking water, bringing comfort to distressed villagers. Actor Sonu Sood, known for his humanitarian work during the pandemic, once again mobilised his network to arrange shelters, medical aid, and ration kits. Actor Randeep Hooda joined the cause by engaging his NGO teams to supply essentials to vulnerable communities, ensuring resources reached those beyond the easy reach of authorities.

Moreover, many Punjabi film personalities have also been on the ground, assisting rescue efforts and lending visibility to the crisis. Their presence has not only delivered material aid but also uplifted morale at a time when despair runs deep.
