The districts that have been issued yellow warnings till April 6 are Bolangir, Keonjhar, Boudh, Malkangiri, Nayagarh and Angul.
There will be a gradual rise in the maximum temperature (Day Temperature) by 2 to 3°C during the next 3 days at a few places over the districts of Odisha and no large change is expected thereafter.
The maximum temperature is likely to be between 39 degrees and 41 degrees C at a few places over the districts of interior Odisha and between 36 to 38 degrees C over the coastal districts of Odisha during the next 4 to 5 days

The School and Mass Education department directed that all educational institutions including government, government-aided and privately-managed schools should have morning classes from April 2.

The IMD has issued an orange warning for thunderstorm with lightning in several parts of Odisha (till 0830 hours of March 31, 2024).
Most parts of the state witnessed gruelling temperatures. Bhubaneswar recorded 37 degrees Celsius on Thursday while Boudh town became the hottest town in the state today with temperature touching 39.5 degrees C.
As per IMD, a fresh western disturbance is likely to affect the Western Himalayan Region from the night of March 26 and another from March 29, 2024.
