IMD issues alert for thunderstorm, 30-40 kmph gusty winds in Odisha districts; hot and humid conditions to continue

The people in different parts of Odisha are currently experiencing intense hot and humid conditions for the past several days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday predicted that there will be no major change in the maximum Temperature (day temperature) for the next 6-7 days over the districts of Odisha.

The only respite that seems to be on the cards is the possibility of rain and thunderstorm activities in some pockets of the state during the next few days.

A yellow alert for hot and humid conditions, as well as thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds, has also been issued by the IMD.

Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Nabarangapur, Kandhamal, Sambalpur, Nayagarh, Khordha.
