IMD predicts thunderstorm, heat wave conditions in Odisha; yellow warning for hot and humid conditions 

People in different parts of Odisha are currently experiencing intense hot and humid conditions, post the short-term relief following incessant rainfall and thunderstorm activities recently.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday predicted that heat wave, along with hot and humid conditions, is likely to continue in several parts of Odisha in the coming days. 

The only respite that looks on the card is the possibility of light to moderate rainfall in some parts of the state.

As per IMD, the maximum or day temperature is likely to rise by 2 - 3°C during the next 4 days and no large change thereafter in the subsequent 3 days over the districts of Odisha.

Weather Forecast

Day 1 (Valid upto 0830 hrs IST of 04.06.2025): ,Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam and dry weather very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning: Heat wave conditions are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Gajapati. 

Hot and humid weather conditions are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 04.06.2025 to 0830 hrs IST of 05.06.2025): Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore.

Yellow Warning: Heat wave conditions are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Gajapati,Jagatsinghpur, Puri. 

Hot and humid weather conditions are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam.

Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 05.06.2025 to 0830 hrs IST of 06.06.2025): Light to moderate rain or Thundershower very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangapur, Rayagada.

Yellow Warning: Heat wave conditions are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Gajapati,Jagatsinghpur, Puri.

Hot and humid weather conditions are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam.
