BJD MLA Terms Egg Hurling At CM Shameful, Seeks Apology From BJP

A day after eggs were hurled at the convoy of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik during his visit to Puri, BJD MLA from Jajpur and party’s organisational secretary Pranab Prakash Das termed the incident shameful. In a series of tweets, Das requested Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to intervene in the matter immediately. The BJD leader further requested Pradhan to ask those BJP leaders involved in the incident to seek an apology to the people of Odisha. The reaction of the Union Minister could not be obtained immediately.

Locals Scuffle With Police During Eviction Of Mahima Dhaba In Bhubaneswar

Tension erupted at Nayapalli area in Bhubaneswar after a Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) team reached the spot in front of the Crown Hotel, running alongside the national Highway-16, to raze ‘Mahima Dhaba operating illegally on the government land.

As per reports, the Dhaba was built on plot numbers 695 and 696 under Nayapalli Mouza which belongs to the State government. The Dhaba was very close to the Gate -9 of the Kalinga Stadium where the Junior Men’s Hockey World Cup is currently underway.

The locals as well as the Dhaba owner scuffled with the Police during the drive after which additional forces have been deployed at the spot.
