Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to visit Odisha on Sunday

On coming Sunday, the political temperature in Odisha is all set to rise by a few notches as two heavyweight leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress are slated to address rallies and campaign for their candidates. 

On the same day, while BJP National President JP Nadda is scheduled to visit Odisha, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will kick-start Congress’ campaign from Salepur.

Sources close to the party said prior to addressing meetings, Rahul Gandhi will offer tribute to Utkal Gourab Madhusudan Das at Satybhamapur in Salepur. After attending meetings, he will return to Bhubaneswar. 

“We will start from Salepur. Rahulji will reach Odisha sometime between 12 and 12.30 pm. Thereafter, he will go to Daman and Diu. He said he has chosen Odisha to be the first place in his itinerary because Odisha is closer to our hearts,” informed Ajoy Kumar, Congress’ Odisha in-charge.
