The veterinary doctors, who had been on mass leave for a month over multiple demands, have put their strike on hold. 

DSP Rakesh Minj and a team of the Government Railway Police along with a forensic team rushed to the spot and started an investigation into the matter. The bodies have been seized for post-mortem.

The Odisha team also performed splendidly in the tournament by winning a total of 28 medals including 13 Gold, seven Silver, and eight Bronze medals.

The State government seems to be less perturbed about the ordeal of the veterinary doctors and farmers depending upon animal husbandry for their livelihood in the State.

Local residents have expressed their resentment over the apathy by the administration.

As per reports, the ED officials carried out marathon raids in four places in Bhubaneswar and six places in Bhadrak. The raids started at 7 am and ended at 10 pm, informed sources.

Yuvraj is a giant buffalo bull, aged 12. it has been brought to Bhubaneswar from Kurukshetra of Haryana to take part in the three-day fisheries and animal husbandry event to kick-start from tomorrow at Janata Maidan. Its owner Nasib Kunkad earns a whopping Rs 30 lakh per annum by participating in show events and selling its semen. 

Apart from cadre restructuring and grade pay, the agitating workers demanded that the eligibility for the post should be a graduation degree. They warned of launching an indefinite dharna in Bhubaneswar if the government fails to listen to their demands.

As per reports, the injured students were admitted to Parjang Community Health Centre. The van was carrying 12 students of Barihapur Model School when the accident took place. However, the reason behind the accident could not be ascertained immediately.  

Basant Sethi, an attendant of a patient, said, “When we came to the CHC, it was dark and the doctor on duty was moving outside the hospital speaking on the phone. There was no light. We switched on our mobile light and the doctor started treatment.”  

Dr Shankarshan Mohapatra, general secretary of the Odisha State Veterinary Services Association said, “The main objective of our agitation is that the government should give equal importance to veterinary like healthcare. If the government does not come out to fulfil our demands, we will start a hunger strike.”

According to a press release from the CMO, artistes’ monthly pension was hiked from Rs 1200 to Rs 2000 while Rs 2500 will be given to the artistes above 80 years. As many as 80,000 artistes will receive pension money under the Mukhya Mantri Kalakar Sahayata Yojana between February 20 and 25.
