Odisha boy Animesh Pradhan created history by securing an impressive AIR-2 in the UPSC Civil Services Exam 2023, that too in his very first attempt. Despite losing both his parents at crucial junctures of his life, Animesh proved that ‘nothing is impossible’ if you have the right grit and determination.

In a heartwarming post on his 'X' handle, Animesh remembered his late mother who was his support system after the untimely demise of his father. After losing his father at a tender age, when he was in his first year of college, his mother was his only support system and the main reason for him becoming an IAS officer.

Unfortunately, she too passed away before the results were announced and could not be there with him to celebrate his success. Remembering her, Animesh shared an adorable selfie and wrote, “This Photo is of Jan 10 '24, the day of my interview. Everything turned downhill after that. I would hold on to your faith and values Maa. I love you, Sabudin Bahut Mane Paduchi, Rahi hauni toh Bina. I miss you.”

The picture shows Animesh’s love and respect for his mother as they splash their million-dollar smile for a selfie. Going by the picture, Animesh’s mother, who was battling cancer, looks fragile but still stands by her son during his interview phase and gives a bright smile, worth a million dollars.

Animesh’s post has left netizens teary-eyed as they sent love and best wishes to the young and dynamic IAS officer in the comments section.

“May her blessings keep u in right path and may you be appreciated by all for your administrative behaviour to the poorest of the poor. Loads of warm wishes,” commented a well wisher.

Another user commented, “I also lost my father 4 year back...💔💔 I also feel sad most of the time.😥 Sir, we can't bring back them but able to make them alive with memories... 💞💞💞”

“Tears came to my eyes after reading the last sentence. (Rahi hauni to Bina, sabudina bahut mane paduchi),” commented another user.

The inspiring journey of Animesh Pradhan, a 24-year-old lad from Odisha’s Talcher, is an inspiration for all. With his achievement, Animesh has broken a 20-year-old curse on Odisha. It was almost 20 years since someone secured a top rank in the prestigious UPSC exam. Earlier, Roopa Mishra from Odisha was the topper (AIR-1) in 2003.
