Missing for over 25 days, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma actor returns home safe

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma actor Gurucharan Singh, who was missing for nearly a month, has returned home, police said. The 50-year-old actor had left his home in New Delhi last month and was out of contact since then.

The actor, popularly known as Roshan Singh Sodhi in the popular TV show, revealed that he had gone on a religious journey. Upon his return, he shared that he left home and lived in gurudwaras in Amritsar and Ludhiana during his travel to several cities. He told police that after almost a month, he decided to end his pilgrimage and return home.

His sudden disappearance led to several theories from him committing suicide over financial problems to being kidnapped for ransom. He was last caught on CCTV camera in Palam, a few kilometers away from his home on April 24. Singh was seen crossing a road with a backpack. Soon after, his mobile phone was switched off and he could not be contacted by family members.

Worried family members had lodged a missing complaint with Delhi Police after he failed to turn up in his Mumbai home. Reports suggest that he was supposedly going to get married.

As per police reports, Singh had withdrawn Rs 7,000 from an ATM in Delhi. “His flight was scheduled for 8:30 pm, but he was seen at a traffic intersection in Palam at around 9:14 pm,” NDTV quoted a senior police official.

Delhi police had formed multiple teams to trace the actor.
