In a gruesome incident, mutilated bodies of four persons were found on the Bimalagarh-Kiriburu railway track in Sundargarh on the Odisha-Jharkhand border on Saturday. Though it is suspected to be a case of murder; police and the GRP have started an investigation into the incident.

As per reports, two of the mutilated bodies identified to be of a man and a woman were packed in two sacks and dumped on the track while two mutilated bodies belonging to an infant and a girl (believed to be two and a half years) were recovered on the track about 15 metres away. 

It is suspected that all four were brutally murdered before their bodies were thrown on the track. 
The identities of the victims could not be ascertained immediately. Police are probing if the deceased belong to a family. 

Meanwhile, DSP Rakesh Minj and a team of the Government Railway Police along with a forensic team rushed to the spot and started an investigation into the matter. The bodies have been seized for post-mortem.
