During the nomination filing for the Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha seat, BJP and BJD workers confronted outside the Khordha Collector's office.

The party has fielded Purnachandra Mohapatra from the Barabati-Cuttack Assembly seat, while Sudhanshu Nayak has been named party candidate for the Bhandaripokhari seat.

Naveen Patnaik, the BJD president and Odisha Chief Minister, announced the party's final list of candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections on Thursday.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik filed his nomination for the Kantabanji Assembly seat, aiming for a sixth term. This strategic move comes as he also contests from Hinjili, with the election seeing a potential major contest between BJD and Congress.

The District Collector reportedly disengaged Puspanjali Mohanty, the Community Resource Person(CRP) of Talasanga gram panchayat under the Mahakalapara block, and Narmada Basantia, the CRP of Marshaghai block, from the service.

In the Dhenkanal Assembly seat, BJD candidate Sudhir Samal has mounted an intense campaign with the help of his son Jagdish and nephew Abinash. Incidentally, Abinash is also fighting the poll as BJD’s MP nominee from the Dhenkanal parliamentary seat. 

The BJP alleged that Congress is behind such doctored videos while BJD MP Nominee Pradeep Majhi has been spreading misinformation using these fake videos at the time of elections to draw political mileage.

Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi criticizes the BJD's governance in Odisha, claiming 'Odia Asmita' is at risk and accusing a 'young babu' of hijacking the state's governance. She highlights high unemployment rates and accuses the Chief Minister of outsourcing his duties, leading to a lack of direct communication and leadership within the state.

Senior party leader and former MLA of Kakatpur Surendra Sethi and two-time BJD MLA from Anandapur Bhagirathi Sethy resigned from the party expressing their displeasure over the denial of tickets this time. 

The Chief Minister has immovable properties worth Rs 57 crore, including the Naveen Niwas building and land worth Rs 13.66 crore and his house at Abdul Kalam Road in New Delhi worth Rs 43.36 crore.

BJP’s state president Manmohan Samal and Vice President Golak Mohapatra also joined Union Minister Dhermendra Pradhan in attacking BJD over its leader VK Pandian’s statement.

During his visit to Ghatagaon Maa Tarini temple on Tuesday, Patnaik told media persons, "I have received a proposal from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to contest from here. Besides, local people are pleading with me to contest elections.”

BJP leader Balabhadra Majhi said, “This shows the shallow attitude of the BJD. The allegation made against the Home Minister is fictitious. Such allegations based on a doctored video are meant to scare people and to extract votes from them.”

The biggest corruption in Odisha is the chit fund scam. If a BJD leader is found involved in any crime, the party is giving ticket to his/her son/daughter, alleged BJP leader Sajjan Sharma.

BJP's Sanjay Rath accuses BJD and Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak of falsely claiming credit for the Haridaspur-Paradip railway project. Baijayant Panda, former MP, played a crucial role since 2009, from sanction to land acquisition. BJD has been criticized for inadequate infrastructure development in Kendrapara despite long tenure in power.
