After making a series of blistering attacks on the Odisha government and BJD leader VK Pandian on several counts during his marathon campaigning earlier in the day, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma reasserted that the BJP would cross the 75-seat mark in Odisha after the final phase polling on June 1, paving the way for the party to form the government.

While addressing a public rally at Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj in the afternoon, Sarma said "The BJP has crossed the 50 Assembly seat-mark in the elections held to date. In the elections to be held on June 1, the BJP would surpass the 75-seat mark which would be decisive for government formation in Odisha.”

He further said, "I thank the people of Odisha for supporting us in large numbers. I appeal to the people to ensure the victory of Rairangpur and Morada MLA candidates.”

After Rairangpur, the BJP leader also campaigned for the party’s MLA candidate at Suliapada under the Morada Assembly seat. He later joined the party’s Vijay Sankalp Samavesh at Raghunathpur in Balasore and in Jagatsinghpur.
