The BJP is intensifying efforts to win the 2024 Odisha elections, with PM Narendra Modi leading public rallies in Berhampur to challenge the ruling BJD. The party targets winning in Ganjam to secure overall victory in the state, reflecting a broader strategy to strengthen its position across India.

The BJP had earlier made allegations against Singh before the ECI. Acting on the allegation, the ECI had on April 5 directed the immediate removal of Ashish Singh from the post of IG(Western range).

Under Subhadra Yojana, every woman will receive a cash voucher of Rs 50,000 which can be encashed over two years. The party has promised to create 25 lakh Lakhpati Didis by 2027 with industrial clusters for every 500 SHGs to facilitate product marketing and promotion

Nadda said, "We have committed to create 25 Lakpati Didis in Odisha by promoting industry cluster with help of 500 SHGs and to provide R10,000 assistance to fishermen during non-production period."

Supporters of Samir Dash, an MLA from Nimapara, protested against BJD's decision to cancel his ticket for the upcoming election.

S. Jaishankar emphasized the importance of a BJP government in Odisha to align with Modi's administration for effective collaboration. He highlighted the cultural significance of Odisha at the G-20 meeting, showcasing the Konark Wheel replica. The minister also noted ongoing central support for Odisha's development, despite some schemes like Ayushman Bharat not being implemented.

Top BJP leaders, including PM Narendra Modi, are set to visit Odisha for crucial pre-election activities. They will release the party's manifesto and engage with local intellectuals. These visits aim to enhance BJP's electoral prospects and address issues like the preservation of Odia culture and proper utilization of central funds.

In his address, Patnaik said, “The opposition is telling lies and its leaders are shedding crocodile tears. Bless me and BJD’s MLA and MP candidates.”

Ahead of the 2024 elections, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD)'s strategy targeting SHG women voters via Mission Shakti faced setbacks after ECI transferred Sujata Karthikeyan amid BJP's allegations that Sujata abused her power to secure votes for BJD.

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan criticized the BJD government on the Odia asmita(identity) issue and alleged that there was a conspiracy to stall the 2020 Ratha Yatra.

Following an ECI directive, Sujata Karthikeyan was transferred from the Mission Shakti and appointed as the Special Secretary of the Finance Department.

In Banki, a green saree with conch patterns, allegedly symbolizing the BJD, was used to decorate the backdrop of Goddess Charchika, sparking controversy. Locals and servitors condemned such an incident.

Besides demanding the closure of the NUA-O call centre along with other call centres of the Odisha government during the time of the election, the BJP also demanded stern actions against the erring persons involved in the matter.
