After action against IPS officers D S Kutey and Ashish Singh, the officers, who are allegedly acting as stooge of the ruling BJD, are reportedly finding the sword of Damocles hanging over their heads.

Acting on the allegations against Ashish Singh, the ECI directed his immediate removal from the post of IG(Western range). Following the ECI order, the state government posted him as IG at the CMO.

As per the direction of the ECI, a six-member medical board inspected the health condition of Singh, who has been on medical leave since May 4. The health report is scheduled to be submitted to the ECI by May 31.

On the other hand, special secretary to CM, D S Kutey reported at the Resident Commissioner’s office in New Delhi on Thursday.

The ECI had suspended Kutey on the basis of the BJP’s allegation that the officer was working on behalf of the BJD.

“A belief grew stronger that the government wouldn’t change and if we work as tools in the hands of political parties, we will be benefitted. The situation has come to such a pass that it is difficult to find out who is honest and who is dishonest among the government employees,” said Prasanna Mishra, former bureaucrat.

The BJP once again moved the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) against Sujata Karthikeyan, who was earlier transferred from the Mission Shakti department.

Accusing Sujata of being engaged in electoral malpractices and playing an active role in inciting a wave of electoral violence in Odisha during the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, the BJP demanded her transfer outside the state.

Former BJD leader, who joined the BJP, Pramod Rath added fuel to the fire by saying DS Kutey, Ashish Singh and VK Pandian had struck a deal with him in 2019.

“When I reached, I saw D S Kutey, Ashish Singh and VK Pandian were there. They promised me stars and a moon in lieu of Rohit Pujari’s victory. Then I understood it that they had taken the entire government to their control,” said Rath.

“As you sow so shall you reap. We have been telling it since the 2019 elections that they have been involved in political activities and people know it very well,” said BJP leader, Samir Mohanty.

On the other hand, BJD MP  Sasmit Patra took the side of his party and said, “We dare BJP to fight with us directly instead of targeting officers.”
