UP CM pays obeisance at Sri Jagannath temple

Bhubaneswar: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, who is on a two-day visit to Odisha went to Jaganaath temple in Puri on Thursday evening to have darshan of the deities.

According to sources, the Uttar Pradesh CM was taken inside the temple by his ancestral priest Bhimasen Hajuri and worshiped the deities.

Later, Yadav had darshan of Goddess Bimala, Lakshmi in the temple, the sources added.

Yadav was accorded a rousing welcome and felicitated by chief administrator of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) Suresh Mohapatra and Chatisha Nijog Nayak Janardan Paatajoshi Mohapatra.

Earlier in the day, he met Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at his State Secretariat in Bhubaneswar.

Notably, Yadav is slated to attend a programme at KIIT and KISS at about 2.30 PM before leaving for Lucknow at 5 PM.
