State to receive pre-monsoon showers soon
Bhubaneswar: People in the State will get relief from the scorching heat wave soon, as the Indian Metrological Department (IMD) here predicted that the State is likely to receive pre-monsoon rain from June 2 to 4.
Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon is scheduled to the Kerala coast today.
Due to a trough line stretching from Uttar Pradesh to Andhra Pradesh through Chhattisgarh and Odisha, its effect will be felt in the coastal areas of the State, said Sarat Chandra Sahu, director at regional metrological centre.
Temperature in the coastal areas has already gone below 40 degree Celsius while some interior parts of State still reeling under the blistering heat wave.
But, temperature across the State would like to fall and below 40 degree Celsius by tomorrow, Sahu predicted.
Balangir, Sonepur and Titlagarh are still sizzling at 45 degree Celsius, a report said.
