Food Safety Appellate Tribunal in State soon

Bhubaneswar: In view of the rising disputes over safety of food items, Odisha government on Thursday decided to set up a Food Safety Appellate Tribunal in State.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday approved a proposal to establish the quasi judicial body which will be headed by a district judge, an official release said.

The tribunal will conduct hearings of the cases related to violations of the Food Safety and Standards norms.
